About Me

Nancy Israel joined the American Council of Engineering Companies of Virginia (ACEC/VA) as the Executive Director in October 2003. She is responsible for providing advocacy,education, and networking opportunities to members. She partners with AIA,VTCA, AGC, VAGP and other organizations on a regular basis on issues of concern to all parties.

 

She has been successfully worked with partners to protect and strengthen Qualifications-Based Selection(QBS) and initiated numerous other bills protecting engineering interests during her tenure. She designed and implemented successful leadership programs,increased online learning, and expanded special events. She also handles membership and the fundraising for the state and national PACs. In addition, she continuously works to expand and strengthen ACECVA’s influence and strategic partnerships with other organizations and stakeholders.

 

Prior to accepting this position, she held various positions, including the Executive Director for the VA Apple Growers Association, Budget Analyst for the Dept. of Planning and Budget, and Community Liaison for the Medical College of Virginia. Israel is a past President of the National Association of Engineering Council Executives (NAECE). She holds a Masters in Public Administration and a Bachelors in Social Work.
